Titanium is the perfect modern material for a wristwatch built for action: since it is exceptionally lightweight, it gives the wearer complete freedom of movement.

It is durable and robust as well – as the best field watches should be. And at Hamilton, military watches are something we know a lot about. Hamilton originally began supplying timepieces to the military during World War I, when our precision railroad pocket watches were adapted into easy-to-read wristwatches for US forces. During World War II, Hamilton again supplied the U.S. military with watches, timers and precision instruments. In 1942, we halted all consumer production to ensure we could produce the huge number of wristwatches required by the troops, delivering over a million military watches by 1945. During the war, Hamilton earned five Army-Navy ‘E’ Awards for manufacturing excellence.

It’s these famous watches that have directly inspired our modern mechanical field watches, the Khaki Field family, designed with characteristic military style. Our newest addition is the 42mm Khaki Field Titanium Automatic. The lightweight and durable watch is available in two contrasting styles: choose a sleek bare metal case paired with a silver dial, or go for a bolder look with a case coated in black PVD, with a matching black dial. To go with both versions, we’ve picked a soft-to-touch brown leather strap.

Green Super-LumiNova® is added to the hour and minute hands of the silver dial version, while the black dial features beige. These colors are a reminder of the patina found on the luminous elements of now-vintage Hamilton military watches, and add a further historic touch to the Khaki Field Titanium Automatic.

Most importantly, the applied Super-LumiNova® and contrasting dial ensures total readability under any light conditions. Inside, our dependable H-10 automatic movement picks in an outstanding extended power reserve of 80 hours.
