The original soldier’s watch now features Hamilton’s unique ‘Earth’ colored PVD case coating. This Hamilton leather strap is made from natural materials. The leather is tanned, but has not been treated, pigmented and finished in the same way as some other leather straps. This helps it to retain its natural look and also means that every piece is not exactly the same. As a result, the color of the leather strap may differ from the color shown on the image. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered a mechanical khaki field. Holy smokes, THE BEST field watch I own hands down and amazingly accurate. It is still perfectly synced with the time displayed on my iphone’s clock after first winding it 6 hours ago. Gorgeous watch too. I can absolutely see why Hamilton field watches were used in two wars.

Absolutely adore my field mechanical 38mm, fantastic fantastic watch. Wears light as a feather, particularly like the strap with the leather bit that encircles the whole wrist including under the watch back. Faithful recreation of the original iconic watch with its own nice modern flavor, I even like the fauxtina lume color. Overall a brilliant watch from a brilliant company for an incredible price.

Beautiful watch, from the movement to the strap. The “tik tik” is subtle but present. Keeps time accurately and looks good doing it. I highly recommend.

While the leather band is less robust than expected, the mechanical watch has been performing very well. There were no directions on the number of winds per day, so I went by trail and error to get the number right. I now understand that you need to reach the point of resistance.
